- 2 sticks of butter (1 cup)
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- Additional sugar for dipping
- Optional: add a tablespoon of vanilla, french vanilla, or almond extract
Preheat over to 400º.
Cream butter, and sugar. Add egg. Sift flour, and baking soda into mixture. Roll doug into small balls, and place on an uncreased cookie sheet.
Dip bottom of small juice glass in the additional sugar. Press into each cookie to flatten.
Bake for 6.5 minutes, or until cookies are slightly brown around the edges. Allow to cook for 1 minute, and remove immediately. Makes 100.
